We did it! We just closed on our second live-in flip and are now planning to full time in the skoolie.
Oh, and I’m 8 months pregnant with our first baby. It’s definitely not the easiest time to drastically change lifestyle and my dad is very worried but he always thinks we are a little loco so nothing new there. The way Idilio and I look at it, there couldn’t be a better time to make this change and explore with our newborn this upcoming year.
Our current plan is the move from middle Tennessee to Austin, Texas to be closer to family leading up to delivery and after her birth for help as we need it. Plus, Texas is going to be warmer for bus life with a newborn in the winter so that works out nicely. Once it starts to warm up for the summer, we will head north.
Idilio already works online as a high school Spanish teacher so we don't have to worry about looking for a new job or insurance. I’m planning on taking time off for the first year or so to be with our baby. It helps that we have always been very frugal with no debt so we don’t anticipate any issues with finances.
There are things we will have to figure out and adapt to for bus life with a newborn but that would be the same in a brick and mortar. Yes, it may be harder and more complicated but I totally think it’s doable. And if we fail miserably with bus life and can’t stand all the complications that come with it, we’ll just go back to being normal people with normal jobs in a normal house. So pretty much our back up plan is everyone else's normal life.
